About the Games
The Ontario 55+ Summer Games, formally Ontario Senior Games- Actifest began in 1986 and established the framework for future Ontario Senior Games. Not just a sporting event, the Games include both physical and mental challenges and plenty of opportunities for fun and fellowship. The summer games have grown tremendously and are home to over 15 sports, encouraging older adults to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
To participate in the games, district Ontario Senior Games Association (OSGA) winners in sanctioned events qualify to compete in the summer games. Visit our District page to see if there is a district in your area.
Brampton was selected by the Sport Alliance of Ontario (SAO) and the Ontario Senior Games Association (OSGA) to host the Ontario Seniors Games Actifest 2012, now called the “Ontario 55+ Summer Games”. The name was changed in 2011 to better reflect the event and its participants.
The City of Brampton, the OSGA, the SAO, the Ministry of Health Promotion and the Brampton Seniors Citizens Council have partnered to organize the 2012 event.
